Debs Bio

Debra has been the Director/Owner of Dance Fusion Company since 2002. Owning a dance school and sharing her passion for dance has been a natural step in her career. Starting her professional career at the age of eleven performing with Ronnie Reddick's City Slam, Debra has performed over the years in a number of industry and corporate venues such as Adidas, Microsoft, Reebok, Coca-Cola, Bill Graham Presents, E-Trade, Bloomingdale's, Disney, FOX, Oracle, MTV and many more.

Debra's present and former students are an impressive and extremely well accomplished group of performers. One was the first years winner of “If You Think You Can Dance” (Nick Lazzarini) and other dancers that have placed in the top ranks of the show ( Ryan Ramirez and Katy Sheen). Some are attending and have graduated from prestigious colleges pursuing dance and academics such as Juiliard, LMU, NYU, San Joes State and Long Beach. Others have been on television performing on the American Music Awards, Grammy’s, Dancing with The Stars, The X Factor, House, various music videos, GAP and Dr.Pepper commercials. Along with commercial work she has a dancer with the Göteborg Ballet in Sweden.

Her passion for travel started when she performed at the age of twelve at the Worlds Fair in Australia and Fiji, and she has continued onto performing and teaching all over of the United States, Mexico and Costa Rica. She has had the pleasure of choreographing and teaching master classes at Danceworks in San Jose, Costa Rica and currently is a member of the amazing faculty of Jazz Dance Fest held on the beautiful Guanacaste coast. In addition to Costa Rica Debra takes her talents cross-country to New York City, serving as one of the founding dance teachers at Socapa ( socapa.org) - an intensive program that draws students from around the world.

High school and professional dance teams have also kept her busy. She has danced and/or choreographed for the Golden State Warrior Girls, the San Francisco 49er Gold Rush, the Orlando Magic Girls, the Sacramento Kings Fast Break, the San Francisco XFL dance team, USC, UCLA, UC Davis and BYU. She was on the jazz staff with the United Spirit Association (USA). In addition, she has choreographed for nationally recognized dance teams, San Ramon High, Mission San Jose High in Fremont, Monta Vista High in Cupertino, Lincoln High in San Jose and has been the technique teacher for the national award winning song girls at Cal High, San Ramon.
Though still active in her professional dance career, Debra's true love and primary focus is teaching. She has taught at many of the Bay Area's most prestigious dance studios, including Dance Attack in Sunnyvale and Mountain View, Teen Dance Company in Mountain View and Yoko's in Fremont.

DEBRA EMERSON BOYD has gone on to become a dynamic, successful and sought-after dancer and teacher. She strives to create an energetic and positive environment throughout all the stages of her dancers' development, and believes in a fun yet focused work ethic that pushes each student to achieve their best at all times. With a talented team of accomplished teachers, dancers, and friends by her side, Debra hopes to inspire dancing and living “full out”.
